Miller: KTM was ordered to remain silent before being released until 2025.

Title: Shocking KTM decision leaves Jack Miller disappointed

In a surprising twist, Jack Miller recently revealed that KTM asked him to keep quiet about a potential move to MotoGP in 2025, only to later inform him that he would be released from the team. Miller’s uncertain position within KTM comes after Pedro Acosta’s impressive rookie season earned him a promotion to the factory team alongside Brad Binder.

Speculation was rife that Miller would be demoted to satellite team Tech3 GasGas. However, just before the Dutch Grand Prix, KTM expressed their desire to keep him. Miller expressed surprise at the sudden change, saying: “The last thing I heard was ‘don’t worry about talking to anyone because we want to keep you in the family’ and then you get a call three hours before the press release saying you’re not getting a contract.

Miller’s disappointment is palpable, as he had joined the KTM project with the intention of staying there for a long time. By leaving behind a very competitive bike on the grid, he hoped to bring his experience to the development of the team. Reflecting on his efforts, Miller commented: “I feel like last year what we were able to bring in to improve the bike to some extent was a big plus. »

Despite the unexpected turn of events, Miller remains determined and focused on his future in MotoGP. KTM’s shock decision has left him disillusioned, but he remains committed to his passion for the sport.

Miller has had a difficult season so far, managing to accumulate just 27 points from the first seven rounds. That currently puts him in 16th place in the standings.

KTM has made the decision to make changes to their team for the 2025 season. They have hired Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini on long-term contracts.

Miller revealed he had other options available to him. Rumors link it to Gresini, Ducati, Honda and perhaps Pramac, if a deal with Yamaha for an engine comes to fruition.

“Right now it’s just talk,” Miller said. “I have to think about what I want and what each project has to offer. The opportunity to join Ducati is very intriguing, as I know the bike and the team structure well. I am convinced that I can quickly return to the top 5 if I ride this bike. However, many changes are happening in MotoGP in 2027. I want to find a long-term home where I can finish my last good years in MotoGP and work towards a common goal. I thought we had that here, but it seems we don’t. So that’s something I need to think about. Money is not the problem for me. It’s about what I want for my career. »

Asked about the possibility of becoming a MotoGP test rider, Miller replied: “At the moment I can’t even consider that because I don’t see myself as a test rider. I really like competition. I don’t find the testing part exciting. I do it because I love the work and because it helps me achieve my goals. But just going around in circles on a motorcycle doesn’t excite me. I’m here to compete with 22 other bikes. Who knows what the future holds for me, but all I want to do is run. »
