For the class of 2025, the Nittany Lions have commitments from players from California and Arizona. For the class of 2026, 4-star quarterback Troy Huhn from San Marcos, Calif., has already committed to Penn State.

On Friday, the Penn State coaching staff extended an offer to a talented player from an interesting state.

“I’ve talked to Coach Howie a few times and we spoke on the phone today. After we talked a little bit, he told me I fit everything they do at Penn State in terms of tight end,” Jacobson said. “He told me he really liked my game, what I do and offered me a scholarship on the spot. I was super honored and super excited to get an offer from Penn State. This is really a great offer for me. »

“I was surprised that it happened so soon, but I knew at some point it was going to happen because I know the caliber of player I am and what I can do. The offer caught me a little bit off guard, but I was super excited.”

Over the past few seasons, Penn State’s program has done a remarkable job of recruiting and then developing the tight ends that come into their program. Jacobson believes that if he were to ultimately choose Penn State, he would be a great fit.

“Being a kid from the Midwest, having that tenacity, that blue-collar work ethic and really my ability to do everything,” Jacobson said. “I can separate across the board, I can play in the line, my ability to block in space and at the line and my ability to get out and play with my skills with the ball.”

Penn State joins a list of impressive programs already offered by Jacobson. With offers from Purdue, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida State, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, LSU, Miami, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Wisconsin, Jacobson is excited about how All recruitment is in fashion.

“It’s a blessing, for sure, and glory to God. I am very grateful for all of this, but I continue to work and I know that there is still work to do and areas in which I need to improve. »

“I started taking some visits in June,” Jacobson said. “And I’m trying to get a feel for some schools and get my first impressions of them. I plan on taking some game-day visits and I really want to start building relationships with the coaches and try to get a feel for what it’s like and go from there. That’ll give me a sense of what I like and what I don’t like.”
