I Was Shocked When A Pretentious Woman Sat In My Airplane Seat. Here’s What I Did

She had to check her flight privilege.

As if requests to swap seats weren’t already annoying enough, it now appears that pushy passengers are taking airplane seats without permission.

One dismayed passenger said his seat was taken by a woman entitled to a seat, who then told him he could sit elsewhere, according to a post making the rounds on Reddit.

The anonymous passenger, who was on an 8-hour flight to an undisclosed destination, described how he did not pay “extra” for any seat and decided to sit where he was assigned.

As luck would have it, the traveler got a window seat, which he was grateful for given the length of the trip.

“I wanted to sleep with the wall support provided by the window seat,” recalls the enthusiastic Redditor.

However, passengers’ dreams of a relaxing flight crashed and burned after they boarded the plane and saw that a “lady” was already sitting in their seat.

To make matters worse, the air barbarian didn’t seem very keen on moving.

“She said, ‘Oh, I didn’t realize. You can just sit here,’ and he points to the middle seat,” the sweet flyer described.

Unfortunately, the flyer eventually capitulated to this ridiculous suggestion.

“I have a hard time accepting confrontation, so I just accepted it,” lamented the Redditor, who asked the commenters what they would have done in their place.

Luckily, the friendly Redditors had a slew of suggestions, with one advising: “Just say, ‘I’d rather be seated by the window, thanks.’ And if that doesn’t work, talk to a flight attendant.”

“My response is always, ‘Oh, no thanks,’ and I stare at them until they move,” said another.

One of them told the passenger that he should just tell the culprit: “No, that doesn’t really suit me.” I would like my seat. »

Another suggested the poster might be “feigning ignorance” to avoid appearing confrontational.

“Look at your boarding ticket, say ‘My seat is 35A,’ look above and check the seating arrangement,” they wrote. They then advised the passenger to “pretend to be confused” and ask what their ticket said, before calling a flight attendant and “informing” them there was an “error”.

Many speculated that the woman had deliberately taken the passenger seat, given that she was comfortable telling the Redditor to sit in the middle.

One of them remembered a similar situation during a robbery.

“A guy tried to take my place and put me in his middle seat, across the aisle, so he could sit with his wife and teenage son and I said, ‘ Oh, no, thank you. I chose this seat intentionally when I checked in,” they said. “He started throwing a fit, trying to get me to take his middle seat, and the flight attendant rushed over like a fucking goddess and told him to move.”

The commentator continued: “He went over, still moaning, and hit his head on the overhead bin so hard that three rows of passengers gasped audibly. The thing is, I was sitting next to my wife and child, and they didn’t say a word to each other the entire flight.”
