Holland Hilltop Acres announces it will not return in 2024

NETHERLANDS — A relatively new pumpkin patch in Holland won’t return in 2024 as operators decide to prioritize family time.

Holland Hilltop Acres was a favorite spot for parents with young children, located on a manageable lot at 6022 138th Ave. The farm had pumpkins, a straw maze for children, a corn box (corn kernels instead of sand), fresh donuts and coffee for sale, a barrel train, and a hay ride. The company had also recently added a one-acre corn maze.

Admission was $7 per person or $35 for a family of five or more.

Josh and Kristin Coffman said when they launched the business in 2021, they wanted to help families create memories.

“After many discussions with our family and friends, we have decided not to pursue Holland Hilltop Acres,” the company wrote on social media Friday (June 28). “It was a great three years providing fun activities for the community. We appreciate all the support and those who showed up every year, even in the cold and rainy weather.

“One of our goals was to provide a place where families could come together and create memories together, and we think we accomplished that in a very neat way. It was so much fun helping you choose your pumpkins and seeing all the kids running around our farm, enjoying donuts and barrel rides.

“The main reason we are not continuing the pumpkin patch is because we see these years passing when our children are still young, and we want to prioritize this time with our family. Thank you for understanding our decision.”

Other sites for fall fun in West Michigan have recently included Crane’s Orchards in Fennville, Virtue Cider in Fennville, the New Salem Corn Maze in Dorr, Bethke Farms in Grand Haven and Post Family Farm in Hudsonville.
