Bend City Councilwoman Barb Campbell Announces She Will Run for Fourth Term

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Barb Campbell announced Friday that she will run for re-election to Seat 4 on the Bend City Council. Barb has served on the council for 10 years and believes she has more to offer.

Barb has been a strong leader in our city, guiding strategic investments in policies, programs and projects that carefully balance safety, growth and our exceptional quality of life. She said, “Our biggest challenge remains that everyone who comes here falls in love with Bend and wants to live here, just like I did 33 years ago.”

“Creating affordable housing for our children and our workforce is a major challenge we face, and we are making real progress.”

Barb is particularly proud of the achievements in affordable housing and for people experiencing homelessness. She said: “We created hundreds of emergency, temporary and permanent, stable housing and shelter units for people who needed a helping hand. »

Barb Campbell has built relationships throughout the region and state. She has built consensus and led organizations representing very different communities toward effective investments in transportation and housing, while leveraging our limited resources to make our streets safer and our housing more affordable.

Barb Campbell is 60 years old and has lived in Bend since 1991. Having worked as a daycare teacher/director, carpenter, eighth grade science teacher, waitress, and bartender, she has gained unparalleled life experience working with people who are all different and facing all sorts of challenges. Barb was the founder/owner of Wabi Sabi, a cool Japanese product, which was not only a beloved store, but also a hub of activity and community involvement for ten years in Downtown Bend.
