Slim + Husky’s Pizza Announces Acquisition of Diskin Cider Kitchen

NASHVILLE, TN (TN Tribune) – Slim + Husky’s Pizza has teamed up with Diskin Cider, Nashville’s first and only craft cidery, for a takeover of the kitchen at Diskin’s Wedgewood Houston tasting room.

Diskin’s customers began enjoying the pizzeria’s mouthwatering offerings during its soft opening in mid-June. Known for its handcrafted selections, Slim + Husky’s Diskin’s menu features eight popular signature pizzas, current and new wing flavors, two new signature salads, cheese-stuffed bread and everyone’s favorite cinnamon rolls. Vegan and gluten-free options are also available.

“We’ve wanted to work with Slim + Husky’s for a while and we’re excited to finally be able to work together to do something really cool,” said Todd Evans, co-founder of Diskin Cider.

Slim + Husky’s Pizza is looking to grow its original “beeria” brand by exploring opportunities to expand its craft beverage options. In May, the pizzeria launched a series of tap takeover events, partnering with Diskin on “So Icy” cider release parties at Slim + Husky’s Middle Tennessee location, followed by the kitchen takeover announcement in June.

“Our team has wanted to open in the Wedgewood Houston area for several years. The opportunity to partner with Diskin gives us the immediate opportunity to serve the WeHo community alongside another brand that values its neighbors. We hope to contribute to the already cool vibe that Diskin provides and is brewing in this neighborhood. We look forward to playing a major role in the growing developments coming to this area,” said Clint Gray, Co-Founder of Slim + Husky.

The kitchen’s official takeover will begin on Thursday, June 27, followed by a collaborative celebration at the summer launch party for Diskin’s new “Cherry Bomb” cider. While Slim + Husky’s kitchen will share the same hours as the cidery, it will eventually have a curbside takeout window, accepting to-go orders.
