Coronation Street’s Sarah Barlow is caught in a lie in upcoming scenes as her plan to get Damon out of town backfires.

Fans of the soap opera will know that Sarah recently cheated on her husband Adam with former prisoner Damon Hay. Following this, Damon presented his project of Nick Tilsley and Leanne Battersby has transform the Bistro into a nighttime concert hallleaving Sarah less than impressed.

In scenes set to air next week, Sarah takes Adam for a birthday lunch at the Bistro where Adam tells Nick that locals have raised objections to the new late licence.

After Damon joins Adam and Sarah at their table, Sarah squirms and Maria accidentally lets it slip that Sarah was one of the locals who objected to the late license.

Feeling uncomfortable with Damon, Sarah objected to the license in the hopes that he would leave town if the plan to turn the Bistro into a late-night watering hole failed.

Unaware of Sarah’s reasons for opposing the new club, Nick and Adam are furious when they find out, but Damon welcomes her discomfort. Later in the week, Sarah speaks her mind to Nick and Leanne, telling them that their late Bachelor idea is terrible.

Lying about Gail’s objection to the new venture, Sarah tells them that Gail is also against the idea. Calling the Rovers, Nick tells the townspeople that there will be a meeting at the Bistro to voice their opinions on the late licence, but when Gail says she has no objections, Nick is left baffled by Sarah’s lie.

How long can Sarah keep the truth from being revealed?
