Taylor Swift Tweets About Simone Biles’ Floor Routine During US Olympic Gymnastics Trials: ‘She’s Ready For This’

Like much of America, Taylor Swift watched the U.S. Olympic gymnastics team trials with bated breath, hoping to see what the red, white and blue had to offer on bars, beam, floor and vault.

She was pleasantly surprised during Simone Biles’ floor routine. Biles, ever the show-stopper, wowed the Target Center faithful with somersaults, pirouettes and a triple-double pass, for good measure. Notably, she did it all to the soundtrack of a mash-up of Swift’s “Ready for It?” and Travis Scott and Beyonce’s “Delresto (Echoes).”

He took the gymnastics world by storm, drawing loud applause from those who filled the halls. Biles took home a nice reward for her showcase, receiving a score of 14.850, easily the best of the evening.

As if that weren’t enough, she received praise from an unlikely source: Swift herself, who responded to a clip of Biles’s excellence with a sweet message on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

She wasn’t the only one impressed by Biles’s accomplishments. Former Olympic gold medalist Dominique Moceanu was also surprised by Biles’ performance, a sentiment she expressed on X.

This isn’t the first time Swift and Biles have crossed paths. The two have a kinship relationship, strengthened by the spotlight under which they have both lived. It was Swift who delivered a monologue for Biles during the 2021 Olympics amid her mental health struggles.

“Throughout the last week, her voice has been as important as her talent. Her honesty as beautiful as the perfection that has long been her signature,” Swift said. “But don’t you see? She still is. She’s perfectly human, and that’s what makes it so easy to call her a hero. Simone Biles, back on the beam in Tokyo.”

The duo also appeared at the Chiefs-Packers game at Lambeau Field last December, each supporting their respective pals — Swift was there for Kansas City star Travis Kelce, while Biles guarded then-Green Bay safety Jonathan Owens. Despite their collective fame, the duo didn’t touch base at the game.

“I’m not sure they were really happy about the Packers beating them,” Biles joked about Swift and her team in a Vanity Fair article published in January.

Biles unveiled her floor routine ahead of May’s Prefontaine Classic. Given the success — and noise — it’s brought, expect to see it countless times before the Olympic season is over.
