Warriors News: Dubs extend qualifying offer to former player Nico Mannion

According to Keith Smith of Spotrac, the Golden State Warriors have made a qualifying offer to former Warriors guard Nico Mannion.

In his lone NBA season with the Warriors, Mannion averaged 4.1 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 30 games and 12.1 minutes per game.

He then sought to play a larger role on foreign teams in Europe, primarily in his mother’s native Italy (which also allowed him to play for the Italian national basketball team). He spent last season with Varese in Lega Basket Serie A, Italy’s top professional league, where he averaged 20.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 2.4 steals, with a shooting ratio of 41/37/91.

Making a qualifying offer to Mannion opens the door to a potential return to the NBA with the team that drafted him 48th overall in the 2020 NBA Draft.
