Background of the Chidozie family

Chidozie Nwankwo’s athletic journey began at Foster High School in Richmond, Texas, where he was a dominant force on the defensive line. He received numerous accolades, including being named 10-5A Defensive MVP as a junior and senior. His high school success extended beyond football, as he was also a two-time Class 5A state champion in wrestling, with an impressive 102-5 record.

People affectionately know Chidozie Nwankwo as the “Block Bully” because of his ability to shed blocks and dominate the defensive line. This nickname reflects his aggressive style of play and his tenacity on the field, making him a formidable opponent for any offensive line. While playing for the University of Houston, he appeared in 41 games and contributed 95 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and five sacks which made him a prominent figure on the defensive front and making his nickname quite appropriate.

Chidozie’s brother, Chijioke Nwankwo, also signed with Colorado, furthering the family tradition of playing for the Buffaloes football team.
