Four Former Canadian Junior Players Not Offered QOs; All Become UFAs – NHL Trade Rumors

This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, but the Philadelphia Flyers will not be tendering a qualifying offer to goaltender Carter Hart and are officially waiving his rights. The same goes for
Michael McLeod and Cal Foote of The New Jersey Devils and Dillon Dubé of Calgary Flames.

These four are among five former Team Canada World Junior players currently facing sexual assault charges stemming from an incident at a Hockey Canada event in 2018, and all have been on indefinite leave since the end of January. The accusations were made public shortly afterward and all players were removed from their teams’ rosters.

All players will become unrestricted free agents, but obviously at this point, with the trial still ongoing, no offers will be received from other teams.

Hart, 25, spent six years with the Flyers, recording a .906 save percentage and a 2.94 goals against average.
