Emmerdale's Belle King faces arrest over abortion secret

Belle King risked getting caught by her abusive husband Tom for having an abortion in Emmerdale.

Earlier this week, Belle secretly decided to go to a women’s health clinic to have a medical abortion because she was terrified of having a baby with Tom.

In Friday’s (June 21) episode on ITV1 and streaming service ITVX, Belle tricked Tom into revealing how long he would be away from home.

” Stay at home. My husband orders me to,” Tom told him.

Once Tom left for work, Belle’s plan for the day was interrupted by Cain’s unexpected stop to congratulate her on her pregnancy.

Cain confided in Belle about his marriage troubles with Moira, before apologizing for bothering her with his problems and moving on.

Belle snuck out in her car to pick up her next medical abortion pill at the clinic. However, she knew that Tom was tracking her movements so she called him and pretended to be at the hospital and asked him to meet her at home.

Tom rushed to Dale Head, where Belle tearfully lied that she had been to the hospital and discovered she had lost their baby.

He was furious that Belle hadn’t phoned him to come to the hospital with her, but she insisted there was no signal until she got to the parking lot.

“That doesn’t make any sense,” Tom told him suspiciously.

Belle broke down and pleaded, “I was so focused on getting to the hospital and praying that this would be fixable. »

Tom then turned his anger on the hospital, accusing the medical staff of negligence for not calling him. Belle begged Tom not to make a fuss, reminding him that there was nothing they could do now anyway.

“Tom, I’m so sorry. I am, but we can get through this,” she promised. “We’ll get through this together.”

The soap then cut back to the couple, with Tom suggesting they start trying for another baby as soon as Belle was recovered. Belle tried to discourage him, telling her husband that it was simply “too soon” to consider pregnancy again.

“I don’t think I could face a situation like that again, not right away,” Belle told him.

Tom was convinced that Belle would change her mind, but when he went to walk Piper, she sat by herself in silence.

Instead of taking Piper for a walk, Tom snuck into the car where he used his tracker to confirm that she had gone to a clinic.

Tom seemed happy that Belle was telling the truth until the camera turned to show the package of medicated abortion pills on the passenger side floorboard of the car.
