City of Las Vegas announces road work and lane restrictions on Washington Avenue

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Motorists should be careful traveling along Washington Avenue in the eastern part of the Valley.

Beginning Monday, July 1, Washington Avenue will be limited to one open lane in each direction between Sandhill Road and Nellis Boulevard.

According to the City of Las Vegas, the work includes utility reductions, milling, installation of traffic signal loop detectors, paving, utility elevations and installation of road surface delineation.

Lane restrictions will remain in effect 24 hours a day and are expected to last until August 30.

City officials said motorists can use Owens Avenue or Bonanza Road as recommended alternate routes for eastbound and westbound traffic.
