Radio presenter sends clear message about Taylor Swift's songwriting

Thanks to its very popular Eras Tour, Taylor Swift has reached a new level of fame over the past year. (Meet an NFL star Travis Kelce didn’t hurt, either.) It also means more people have expressed their opinions about Swift as a person besides music critics — and they’re not all nice.

Recently the presenter of Scottish Greatest Hits Radio Ken Bruce gave his take on the pop superstar. And the 73-year-old presenter didn’t hold back in delivering that pointed message.

“All his songs are the same,” Bruce told the Daily Mail on Sunday June 30. “I’ll play her on my station when she writes something that isn’t about her ex-boyfriends. »

He added: “Good radio songs have three beats and then they go straight into the song, not these long intros like she does.”

So Taylor isn’t good enough to listen (she clearly isn’t) or act (she wouldn’t do it anyway, her show is from the 70s-90s), but she is good enough to be named for publicity purposes (or just to be a hateful ass).

X fans, formerly of Twitter, defended Swift against Bruce’s claim that she only writes about her exes.

Another user X ” agreed, listing even more Swift songs that have nothing to do with a man: “I did something bad, who’s afraid of little old me, Florida, Clara Bow, nothing new, disco ball, seven, lakes, Marjorie, it’s time to go, closing, long short story, Anti-Hero, Vigilante Shit, Look What You Made Me Do, The Man, Bad Blood, You You’re the only Kid, Karma, Bad guy….”

In the meantime, another fan snickered“Let’s leave it to an old white man to be completely out of touch…..shocking”, while someone else commented“‘I never really gave her a chance to tell a story, but I’m going to regurgitate the same misogyny she’s been dealing with for 18 years.'”

Swift is currently wrapping up the third (and final) show of her Eras tour in Dublin, Ireland, before performing three concerts in Amsterdam on July 4, 5, and 6.
