New Jersey fugitive arrested in South Burlington

A New Jersey fugitive has reportedly been arrested in South Burlington.

The Chittenden County Sheriff’s Office said it arrested Jamir Fitzgerald, 22, of Jersey City. In response to several follow-up questions, investigators said they arrested Fitzgerald around 3 p.m. Friday at a business on Shelburne Road. They also said a shoplifting complaint filed by the business led officers from the Street Crimes Unit to visit him.

Fitzgerald was wanted on several drug warrants in Hudson County, New Jersey. Jersey City is located in this county. He is being held at the Northwest State Correctional Center in St. Albans Town on $25,000 bail.
