MINNESOTA — The Minnesota Lynx beat the Chicago Sky 70-62 on Sunday afternoon, but that didn’t stop Angel Reese from making history.

The former LSU star recorded her 10th straight double-double with a 10-point, 16-rebound performance Sunday, breaking Candace Parker’s record for most consecutive double-doubles in a WNBA season.

Reese was 4-of-16 (25%) from the field in the loss, but made the mark on a free throw attempt with 23 seconds left in regulation.

“I’m just proud of her, proud of what she’s doing. I’m sure she’ll say winning was more important. So she’s going to continue to do what she’s doing. That’s who she is. She’s always going to go out and play hard, confident and give you everything she’s got. She’s the hardest person on herself. So I’m proud of what she’s doing and what she’ll continue to do,” Chicago Sky head coach Teresa Weatherspoon said.

Angel Reese has already posted 11 double-doubles this year, averaging 13.5 points and 11.1 rebounds in 17 games. The Chicago Sky are 6-11 this year.

Reese will attempt to record his 11th consecutive double-double Thursday night at 6 p.m. against the Atlanta Dream.
