The Prince and Princess of Wales have reportedly been offered a new home

The Wales family are arguably the most talked about family in the world, having made a grand return to royal life last month.

The Princess of Wales has been on an extended break from royal duties, following her diagnosis with an undisclosed form of cancer earlier this year. And while her treatment is still ongoing, the 42-year-old mother-of-three is said to be making “good progress” – she is even expected to attend Wimbledon this month.

As the family of five returns to the spotlight, Wales keeps making headlines – from Prince William and the kids’ participation in the Eras Tour, to the prince and princess’ major move on social networks.

This week it was their home that was in the news, as it was reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales had been given the opportunity to move.

The property in question? Royal Lodge at Windsor Castle.

The seven-bedroom property, which is listed as a historic monument, was long the official residence of Prince Andrew. However, it has been reported that King Charles has asked his brother to move out, freeing up the property which is considered part of the royal estate.

Amid the ongoing conflict between the two brothers within the Royal Lodge, it has been suggested that the first in line to be offered the property would be the Prince and Princess of Wales, with royal expert Gareth Russell calling them the “logical choice”.

However, the royal couple are apparently not interested, with the family of five ensconced in their nearby Adelaide Cottage home, sitting on the grounds of Windsor Park.

“The logical choice would of course be the Prince and Princess of Wales, but they haven’t shown much interest in returning home,” Russell explained. “They seem pretty happy with their current situation. »

Instead, Russell predicts the property could go to another senior royal couple, reporting: “It could be the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.”

“Royal Lodge has a very high-profile history within the royal family,” Russell later explained. “Bear in mind that it was the final resting place of Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, so it is traditionally given to members of the royal family. However, it could also be that this is part of another move by the king to lighten or shake up the royal property portfolio.
