Message from LSU Football QB Garrett Nussmeier to Potential Recruits

Recruitment has always been a complex process, and new layers have been added in the NIL era.

But while money may be a key factor in getting high school players to sign, it’s not the only important factor. Players also want to attend programs with a track record of developing future NFL stars, and when it comes to that question, few schools can stand up to LSU.

Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier sent a clear message to potential Tigers recruits when he spoke to reporters at the Manning Passing Academy: LSU will make you an elite player. Nussmeier pointed the finger directly at LSU director of performance innovation Jack Marucci, calling him a “mad scientist.”

“Jack Marucci did an incredible job. It’s like a mad scientist out there,” Nussmeier said. “He always finds something to help us improve. And that’s a huge advantage for us at LSU. »

“So, all recruits: LSU is where you need to be. Not just from what we’ve proven with our track record, but they call it NFLSU for a reason, and we have people throughout the building who only care about making us better players. To help us be better mentally, physically and strength-wise, we have the best strength training staff in the country.

“If you’re wondering where you should be, that zero salary is nice and all, but the real money is in the league. And you want to be produced, you want to be developed, LSU is where you need to be. »

That’s certainly a compelling selling point, and it’s backed up by recent history as LSU has produced a number of top prospects, including three first-round picks this year.
