Arsenal fans shocked by Leandro Trossard’s decision during France-Belgium match

Arsenal fans were left stunned by Belgium’s treatment of Leandro Trossard tonight against France at Euro 2024.

The tournament favourites took on their European neighbours in Düsseldorf, with France winning 1-0 against Belgium, where Domenico Tedesco’s side failed to create much in what was a lacklustre performance from the Red Devils.

While William Saliba has been outstanding for France, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winners have been toothless in attack, with a deflected own goal the only thing separating the two teams from a place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.

And Arsenal fans were left furious by what happened to Trossard on the night.

Arsenal fans angry after Trossard not used for Belgium-France match

Looking for a goal and needing something in attack, Trossard was not called upon by Belgium at all, with the former European giant having seen their run at the Euro end in failure against their local rivals , France.

While Trossard had been criticised earlier in the tournament for his performances for Belgium, the 29-year-old Arsenal star has proven over the past 12 months that he is an important player on big occasions for club and country.

And Arsenal fans were not happy that Trossard did not appear on the bench against France.

An Arsenal fan wrote: “Why is Trossard still on the bench???? Make Lukaku go.

Another supporter posted on Twitter: “Bring Trossard on you, you cowards. »

Indeed, Trossard’s Euros went as poorly as could have been expected, with the Arsenal forward failing to make much of an impact for Belgium despite a brilliant year for the Gunners in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

That’s why so many fans on social media were so annoyed by Trossard’s no-show, with the winger exactly the kind of player Belgium could have done with to get something done against France.

One Arsenal fan posted: “Maybe it’s my bias but not replacing Trossard is an embarrassing decision when you need a goal. They deserve to be knocked off.”

Another fan wrote: “Carrasco has already ruined some good moments for Belgium. I don’t really know how he will join the team before Trossard! »

Arsenal fans may feel Trossard has been shortchanged at Euro 2024

Whether Trossard is injured or not tonight for Belgium, supporters may feel that the striker has been underused by the Red Devils, especially after today’s defeat to France.

With Trossard one of Arsenal’s standout players this year, many fans would have expected the former Brighton & Hove Albion man to play a bigger role at the Euros this summer.

However, it is clear that Tedesco does not fully trust Trossard in attack, a decision that could haunt Belgium given tonight’s crushing defeat to their European rivals.
