House of the Dragon fans shocked by explicit scene

The Dragon House Fans were absolutely stunned in the latest episode of Game Of Thrones spin-off when a scene with a huge cock and a few seconds of oral sex was put front and center in Season 2, Episode 3. Now, do you see why I deliberately said gobsmacked? The literary expression is so powerful!!!

While there were many sex acts, none excited/disgusted/scared/shocked the audience as much as what appeared to be the world’s biggest cock being sucked by one of the sex workers.

Some fans felt that the scene was a time-filler rather than a driving force in the book’s plot.

“Someone at HBO got paid to write an episode where they skipped an epic battle and then went out of their way to show a guy getting his dick sucked,” another commented.

Not only have many viewers argued that the violent depiction of many rape scenes (Daenerys Targaryen, Sansa Stark, and Cersei Lannister, to name a few) was a step too far, but the amount of nudity and sex scenes involving women was incredibly disproportionate to that involving men.

Some fans watch the brothel scene in The Dragon HouseSeason 2, Episode 3 felt like it was another example of HBO portraying women in an overtly sexually submissive way for no reason necessary to the plot.

“Why did we need to see this explicitly?” one Reddit user asked.

“We know what a brothel is, but we’re not saying that brothels aren’t allowed in the story. Okay, you can show naked people walking around, but there’s no need to do more than that, to be honest.”

This isn’t the first time the show has been criticized this season. Last week, fans felt shortchanged when a notable scene involving the murder of a grizzly bear child wasn’t shown. Personally, I don’t think so, but I guess if you’re a book purist, just sit back and watch.
