A few days after his “debate debacle”, the president Joe Biden made a televised statement on the Supreme Court’s decision that granted Donald Trump The 81-year-old criticized the decision, saying it undermined the “rule of law.” However, what caught people’s attention was his “fake orange self-tanner,” which some called “Trump-inspired.”

“Biden’s team’s solution to counter the perception of him as old and decrepit was to give him a Trump self-tanner lol. Unbelievable,” wrote one user on X.

Another commented: “They gave Biden a fake tan because he looked like a corpse during the debate.”

A third person commented: “They gave Biden a self tanner, that will surely convince the American people. Who is the orange man now?”

“They gave Joe Biden a spray tan so he looks less decrepit for his 5 minute speech!” wrote another user.

It’s unclear whether Biden actually got a tan, but he did spend the weekend at Camp David with his family, including first lady Jill Biden, his son Hunter Biden and their grandchildren, who encouraged him to stay in the 2024 race despite his poor performance in CNN’s presidential debate against Trump. Biden’s dismal performance in the debate has prompted many Democratic strategists and pundits to question their support for the president.

Several major newspaper editorial boards have called on Biden to suspend his campaign, including the New York Times, which published an editorial saying the president should step down “to serve his country.”

“There are Democratic leaders better equipped to present clear, compelling and forceful alternatives to a second Trump presidency,” the Times editorial board said.

However, Biden defiantly continued his campaign at a rally in North Carolina, ignoring those calls.

“I know I’m not a young man, that’s obvious,” Biden told a crowd Friday. “I don’t walk as easily as I used to. I don’t talk as easily as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to.”

Raising his voice, Biden continued: “But I know what I know. I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong. And I know how to do this job.”
