During his 12-minute speech, Jamie spoke with palpable emotion about his near-death experience. “It’s crazy, I couldn’t have done this six months ago,” he said after taking the stage, emphasizing the progress he’d made.

“I cherish every minute now, it’s different. I wouldn’t wish what I’ve been through on my worst enemy, because it’s hard when it’s almost over… when you see the tunnel. I’ve seen the tunnel, I haven’t seen the light.”

“I have a new respect for life. I have a new respect for my art,” Jamie said, noting how his experience with death has deepened his appreciation for his craft. “I’ve watched so many movies and listened to so many songs to try to pass the time. Don’t give up on your art, man. When you realize it could end up like this… don’t let them steal your art either.”

Jamie’s return to Instagram on May 3 was met with an outpouring of support from fans and friends. “I appreciate all the love!!! I feel blessed,” he wrote in a heartfelt message, marking his first public engagement since his hospitalization.

His resilience shone through when he returned to work on Beat Shazam and his Netflix film Back in Action, where he stars alongside Cameron Diaz.

Filming on the movie, in which they play former CIA spies thrown back into the world of espionage, resumed on January 21 and is scheduled for release on November 15 this year.

Jamie’s daughter Corrine also gave an update on his recovery, revealing that her dad has taken up a new hobby: pickleball. “He’s doing great, he’s doing great. I’m so grateful to be able to work with him on Beat Shazam and spend so much time with him,” Corrine told ET. “He plays a lot of pickleball! That man and pickleball; it’s like he plays twice a day, every day.”

Corrine, who recently got engaged to Joe Hooten, shared a charming story about how her fiancé won Jamie’s approval during a family trip to Hawaii. “We were in Hawaii on a snorkeling trip and none of my family knows how to swim, so we ended up in the middle of the ocean and everyone started drowning,” she said. “One by one, my fiancé dove in, brought some up, dove in, brought some up. My dad said, ‘That’s a man to keep! He saved the family.'”
