Kidnapper caught on camera is a wake-up call for California parents

About a year ago, an attempted kidnapping left us perplexed, as I’m sure you can understand. A kidnapping… in broad daylight… almost happened and was caught on camera… on crystal clear camera footage?

Wow.

Yes, that’s exactly what happened and now the images serve as a reminder to families and the public to keep a close eye on your little ones as school comes to an end and more time at home – or alone at home – is spent.

So here’s what happened…

We are shocked by all this!

Yes, we must emphasize that the little girl in the video is safe and with her family.

It should also be noted that the man in the video, the suspect, has been apprehended and is in custody. The man in the video was armed with a knife and, according to authorities, the girl’s mother was home at the time, caring for a baby, and had no idea the intruder was there.

The video was taken in Idaho and the suspect was Briayan Vergara, 28, who was listed as a suspect in a charge sheet:

Grated
Second degree kidnapping
Battery with intent to commit a serious felony
Aggravated assault
Assault or assault against certain personnel
Resisting arrest
Three counts of burglary

Police believe the suspect visited three different residences on the same day this video was taken.
