Victim of deadly Ocala shooting identified; $3,000 reward offered for information on shooting

Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in Ocala that left a woman dead over the weekend, and a cash reward is being offered to encourage anyone with information to come forward.

On Saturday, June 29, around 10:35 p.m., officers from the Ocala Police Department were dispatched to the 1500 block of NW 20th Avenue in reference to shots fired in the area, according to OPD.

When police arrived on scene, they discovered a deceased woman. She was later identified by Ocala police as 31-year-old Faye Porter.

A homicide investigation has been opened and police said in a social media post early Sunday morning that detectives do not believe there is any danger to the community.

Law enforcement has not provided any further details regarding the shooting or potential suspects.
