Princess Anne expresses deep regret after hospitalization

Princess Anne73, shared her first public post since an incident on June 23 that resulted in minor head injuries. She was hospitalized for a few days to recover and is currently continuing to improve her health at home.

While she was due to appear at a ceremony for the centenary of the Newfoundland National War Memorial in Canada, a statement was shared on her behalf that read: “It is with deep regret that I am unable to be with you today as you commemorate the courageous efforts and sacrifices of the members of the Newfoundland Regiment who went into battle on the first day of the Somme.”

The statement continued: “I have fond memories of being with you in 2016, on the 99th occasion that the people of this island commemorated the Battle of Beaumont Hamel, and I am deeply saddened that I will not be able to join you again, and I extend my warmest wishes to you on this special day of remembrance.”

Anne was also scheduled to attend the burial of an unknown Newfoundland soldier from the First World War at the National War Memorial in St. John’s. The Governor General of Canada read Anne’s statement aloud at the ceremony, via International news.

The incident at Anne’s Gloucestershire home in late June is believed to have involved a horse, although this has not been confirmed. Her children, Pierre Phillips And Zara Tindallwould have been present on the estate at that time, while Anne’s husband, Mr. Timothy LaurenceI accompanied her to the hospital.

Shortly afterwards, Buckingham Palace released a statement explaining that Anne remained in hospital “as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and speedy recovery”.

A few days later, Anne’s husband gave an honest update to the public after visiting her, saying she was “slowly recovering” but would “come out when she’s ready.” Anne officially left the hospital on June 28.
