City of Monroe Announces Independence Day Closures, Trash Pickup | KTVE

MONROE, Louisiana (KTVE/KARD) — According to a news release from the City of Monroe, facilities will be closed Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5, for Independence Day, as well as the Monroe City Courts, both of which will reopen Monday, July 8.

Regarding household waste collection, those normally collected on Thursday, July 4 will be collected on Wednesday, July 3. Garbage normally collected on Friday, July 5 will be collected on Saturday, July 6.


Monroe’s transit system will be closed on Thursday, July 4 and will resume its regular schedule on Friday, July 5. However, transit offices will remain closed on Friday, July 5.

Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo and Chennault Golf Course will remain open to the public. For more information, contact the City of Monroe at 318-329-2200.
