Mets outfielder suffers bizarre injury in hotel room

A very special event happened to the New York Mets.

Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reported Monday that Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo slipped and fell in his hotel room Sunday night, suffering a cut to his forehead. While DiComo added that Nimmo is otherwise fine, Nimmo was not present for Monday’s game against the Washington Nationals because of that.

The Mets are in the District of Columbia to begin a four-game series against the Nationals. Nimmo, meanwhile, has dropped his batting average a bit this season (.247) but still has 13 homers, 50 RBIs and 30 extra-base hits in 77 games for the Mets.

Nimmo’s fall must be a bad memory for the Mets. A few years ago, another Mets player was also injured in a hotel room accident.
