Star recruit Linkon Cure ready to choose between KU, K-State, Oregon and Texas A&M

One of the top high school tight ends in the country is ready to announce where he plans to play college football.

Kansas coach Lance Leipold and K-State coach Chris Klieman will both wait nervously a few more days for his decision.

Linkon Cure, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound tight end from Goodland, revealed he will choose between KU, K-State, Oregon and Texas A&M during a commitment ceremony in his hometown at 4 p.m. Monday.

All four schools would love to add Cure to their 2025 recruiting class. That’s evident given the time all four have spent recruiting him over the past few months.

Cure took official visits to all four locations and received scholarship offers from more than 30 FBS teams.

He has been a major recruiting priority for KU and K-State.

Last weekend, he took a recruiting visit to Manhattan. Photos of him posing in a K-State uniform with quarterback Avery Johnson and running back Dylan Edwards were shared online by enthusiastic EMAW fans. Before that, he visited Lawrence and KU fans reacted in kind.

Cure is a five-star recruit, according to 247Sports. He’s a four-star recruit at On3, ESPN and Rivals. Regardless, all four recruiting services consider him one of the top recruits in the Sunflower State and a top-70 recruit nationally.

He should make a big impact in college as a tight end capable of both blocking at the line of scrimmage and catching passes downfield.

The world will know his future plans early next week.
