Princess Kate’s reaction to William’s risqué joke caught on camera

Princess Kate’s reaction after Prince William used a speech at a concert at Windsor Castle in Berkshire, England, to make a joke about Lionel Richie has gained attention on TikTok.

The Prince of Wales addressed thousands gathered at the Coronation Concert on May 7, 2023, the day after his father, King Charles III, was crowned at Westminster Abbey in London.

Lionel Richie was among the performers, and William covered the singer’s 1983 hit single, “All Night Long.”

“Good evening, Your Majesties, good evening, Windsor,” said William. “Many thanks to all for making this evening so special.”

“I would like to say a few words about my father and why I think this weekend is so important. But don’t worry, unlike Lionel, I’m not going to stay ‘all night’,” the prince added.

The joke drew laughter from Kate, who was sitting in the audience alongside Charles, Queen Camilla and her children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

A clip of the moment on @milfssb has been liked over 11,500 times and viewed over 67,700 times on TikTok after being posted with the caption: “LMFAO (Laughing out loud) I love her, she just said ‘oh!'”

One response read: “That first clip…she knew exactly what he was doing,” while another said: “She knew what he was trying to say.”

After a light-hearted start, William’s speech shifted to a more serious message, and he said: “As my grandmother (Queen Elizabeth II, who died in September 2022) said at her coronation, coronations are a statement of our hopes for the future. I know she is up there, watching over us with tenderness. She would be a very proud mother.”

“While the celebrations are magnificent, at the heart of the pomp is a simple message: service,” the prince added.

“The first words my father spoke as he entered Westminster Abbey yesterday were a vow of service.

“It was a commitment to continue to serve, because for over 50 years, in every corner of the United Kingdom, across the Commonwealth and around the world, he has dedicated himself to serving others, both present and future generations and those whose memory has not been neglected.”
