New Bakersfield Officers Renovate Kids’ Rooms On Their First Day

Bakersfield’s new police officers spent their first day on the job helping children in need in Bakersfield.

Instead of patrolling the streets, recent academy graduates worked with the Healthy Room Project to renovate the bedrooms of children in our community.

The association visits risk areas and identifies children between the ages of 5 and 16 who may need personal space.

They provide essentials like beds, a fresh coat of paint and a desk.

All of this is done in the hopes of creating an environment where the child can come in, decompress and make the space their own.
