Belinda Albritton, 16, was crowned Miss Teen Madison 2024 on Saturday, April 6.

Albritton is a sophomore at James Madison Preparatory High School (JMPHS) and is captain of the track team. She also dances at Becky’s Dance Steps Studio, where she has been a student for 13 years. Albritton said she dances in a variety of genres, but her favorite is jazz. She said participating in these activities allows her to showcase certain aspects of her personality.

Albritton has also competed in the Miss Madison pageant for three years. She previously came in first runner-up every year before being crowned Miss Teen Madison this year.

“I decided to enter because it’s really nice to meet other people and we all became like a big family,” Albritton said. Another reason Albritton entered was because she wanted to be a good role model for young children in the county. She said she was nervous and scared during the competition, but she kept a confident mindset.

“It means a lot to me to see the faces of all these kids. When I’m in a parade or something like that, their faces light up and I hope if they see me it gives them a mindset, ‘maybe if I keep trying I can do it too, it might take a few years,’” Albritton said.
