Barcelona reportedly willing to sell Kounde to Arsenal on one condition

Arsenal have been urged to remain patient in their pursuit of Barcelona defender Jules Kounde, according to Spanish publication Sport (page 12).

Kounde is not transferable at the moment, but the situation could change completely if Araujo decides to commit his future to Barcelona.

FC Barcelona have asked Arsenal to be patient as the Catalans reportedly need a big-money sale due to financial fair play issues.

Arsenal’s main weakness last season was the left-back position. Manager Mikel Arteta started the season with Jurrien Timber, but he suffered an injury on his Premier League debut.

Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu then played in this team. Tomiyasu was a starter in the last weeks of the season.

The club needs to strengthen its left-back position. Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna would be an excellent signing thanks to his ball-playing skills.

It is surprising that the club are being linked with Kounde, who split his minutes as a right centre-back and right wing-back during his time at Barcelona.

Barcelona are reportedly asking for £51m if they decide to sell Kounde, with speculation being led by agents to attract interest from other potential suitors for the Frenchman.
