Brazil star Rodrygo has sent a message to Cristiano Ronaldo as Portugal set up a meeting with Kylian Mbappe’s France in the UEFA Euro 2024 quarter-finals.

Portugal earned a hard-fought penalty shootout victory over Slovenia in the UEFA Euro 2024 round of 16 to set up a thrilling quarter-final against France. Even though it wasn’t a good night for Cristiano RonaldoThe veteran star has always felt nothing but support from his fans.

One of his biggest fans is the Brazilian winger Rodrygowho is looking to emulate the Portuguese superstar at Real Madrid. Shortly after Portugal qualified, the former Santos star responded to Ronaldo’s Instagram post with a simple but important comment: “LEGEND.

Rodrygo’s message to CR7, which has received over 70,000 likes, comes shortly before the Al Nassr star is set to face off against Kylian Mbappé with a place in the semi-finals of this year’s European Championship at stake.

At 25, the Frenchman is hoping to taste continental glory for the first time. Ronaldo, on the other hand, has already won the Euro, but even at 39, he continues to chase the title as if it were the first time.

Ronaldo had still not won with Portugal at Mbappe’s age, so he knows how difficult it is to lift the trophy even though he did so in 2016. On Friday, July 5, Portugal and France face off in Hamburg to keep their Euro aspirations alive.

Monday was a tough time for Ronaldo, who continued to struggle from free-kicks with Portugal, with the score 0-4 against Slovenia. To top it all off, Cristiano broke down in tears after missing a penalty in added time.

Fortunately, Al Nassr’s veteran star redeemed himself scoring in the penalty shootout, where goalkeeper Diogo Costa put in a gigantic performance to save Portugal by saving three penalties.

“As you saw, I missed the penalty but I wanted to be the first to score. You have to take responsibility when the team has to. You can’t be afraid. I’ve never been afraid to face things head on. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don’t, but I’ll never give up. I was sad when I missed the penalty, but the most important thing is that the team wins.not,” Ronaldo said in his post-match interview.
