Labour has suggested it could change UK voting rules if it comes to power to allow 16- to 17-year-olds to vote – a move that could work particularly well for the Reform Party.

According to the poll, among 16-17 year-olds, Labour leads with 39%, but Reform is a solid second with 23%, ahead of the Greens (18%), the Liberal Democrats (9%) and the Conservatives (5%).

Among men, the Reform Party is tied with the Labour Party, both receiving 35% of the vote. The Liberal Democrats and Conservatives follow with 11% each, while the Greens lag behind with 2%. The statistics show substantial male support for the Reform Party, on par with the popularity of the Labour Party.

Conversely, female voters show different preferences. The Labour Party comes first with 43%, followed by the Greens with 33%. The Reform Party comes third with 12%, while the Liberal Democrats get 8% and the Conservatives no support.

These results underline the growing appeal of the Reform, particularly among young voters and men, positioning them as an important player in the upcoming elections.

Their strong showing among 16-17 year olds suggests they are resonating with the next generation of voters, with a strong following on social media platforms including Tik Tok.

Similarly, the equal support of men indicates a strong challenge to traditional party dominance.

As the political climate evolves, the growing influence of the Reform Party could lead to notable changes in voter behavior and election results after the 2024 election.

It comes as a Reform A British candidate has joined the Conservatives, denouncing the “racist, misogynistic and bigoted” views of some of her former colleagues.

Georgie David said in a statement released by the Conservatives: “I hereby announce my decision to leave the Reform Party and stand down as candidate for West Ham and Beckton, effective immediately.

“I am convinced that the party and its senior leaders are not racist.

“However, since the vast majority of candidates are indeed racist, misogynistic and intolerant, I do not wish to be directly associated with people who hold views that are so widely opposed to mine and what I represent.

“I have also been particularly frustrated and dismayed by the failure of the Reform Party leadership to address this issue in a meaningful way and by their attempts to sweep it under the rug or cry foul.

“That is why I have suspended my campaign with the Reform Party and am supporting the Conservative Party. I encourage all my fellow Canadians to do the same.”

Reform British Conservative Party chairman Richard Tice has suggested that the Tories have put up “Trojan horse” candidates to “spread lies” about the party.

Last week, two Reform UK candidates dropped out of the campaign and backed the Conservatives, citing the ongoing controversy over racism within the organisation.

Mr. Tice wrote on X: “Desperate and toxic conservatives have sent us Trojan Horse candidates offering jobs, safe council seats, etc. to spread lies.

“Their corruption will be rightly punished by the voters on July 4th. Millions of people will vote for reform, for change.”
