Amphitheater fire won’t stop on July 4th in Lake George

Live events at the amphitheater are one of Lake Georgia’s biggest attractions, especially in the summer, especially before the Fourth of July holiday. Despite a fire that broke out earlier this week, the show will go ahead.

A fire at the Shepard Park amphitheater in Lake George early Monday morning didn’t stop the village from quickly organizing a show.

A Tom Petty tribute band performed a concert Tuesday, just two days after the fire destroyed the structure.

Live events at the Shepard Park Amphitheater are one of the biggest draws for summer tourism, especially during a weeklong vacation in Lake George.

Lake George plans to rebuild the structure, but it will take time. A temporary facility will suffice for now.

The fire is believed to be of electrical origin. Fortunately, no one was injured.
