Get ready for some TexAmericana on July 5th at Society Hall

Three fellow musicians who have performed individually and together around the world for over a quarter of a century have now made their union official and joined forces in a new trio called The Outlaw Firm.

Mike Blakely, John M. Greenberg and John Arthur Martinez will bring their musical show to Society Hall on Friday, July 5. The Outlaws are currently touring the West in support of their new self-titled album. Although the band is new, the three founding members have been working together for nearly three decades, writing and performing in Texas and as far away as Europe.

Country Music Association Hall of Fame member Floyd Tillman introduced Blakely to Martinez in 1987 at “Floyd Tillman’s Pickin’ in the Park,” a concert series organized by Martinez in Marble Falls, Texas. Blakely had written an article about Floyd Tillman’s life for Texas Highways magazine. A few years later, Larry Nye, owner of Lazy L Studio in Kingsland, Texas, introduced Greenberg to Blakely and Martinez. Nye produced separate solo albums for all three songwriters over the next few years.

Last year, the trio formed The Outlaw Firm. The three powerhouse Texas vocalists have fused their collective talents into a high-energy musical experience. The Outlaw Firm’s sound incorporates everything that is sacred to fans of western, alt-country and Tex-Americana music, embracing country, blues, folk-rock, conjunto, western swing and Tex-Americana.

The trio features precise three-part harmonies, multiple string instruments and pulsating percussion. The Outlaw Firm encourages you to “escape boredom and monotony.”

They recently recorded their self-titled album at Martinez’s studio near Horseshoe Bay. This independent release features nine new original songs written by the band members and a tenth track written by songwriting phenom Jake Martin.

The album is available as a digital download, USB and on vinyl LP.
