Former WWE Star Believes They Were Criticized In Locker Room Due To Massive Push

A former WWE star has admitted that not everyone on the team is happy with their sudden rise.

From 2004 to 2005, Muhammad Hassan was a regular on WWE TV, lambasting fans and fellow wrestlers over the way he was treated in America following the September 11 attacks in New York City. Placed in spots where he was booed by the fans in attendance, Hassan would most often receive his revenge from one of Raw’s top babyfaces. However, on occasion, Hassan would also find himself in the ring facing some of the biggest stars of all time, including The Rock, Steve Austin, and a segment with Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 21.

While the fans in attendance were big fans of the segments, some members of the crew didn’t feel the same way, according to Hassan. Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Hassan said that some of the mid-card stars weren’t thrilled about the fact that there were fewer spots on TV due to his rise:

“I think there was jealousy, especially when I came in and nobody knew me, I felt like I was in a lot better shape. Coming in and getting a push to the moon, it doesn’t bother the top guys, it bothers some of the midfield guys. Because they consider it their spot, the top guys will tell you if it was your spot you would have taken it.”

So all the top guys treated me really well and most of the mid-card guys did too. But, you know, there’s just a heat that comes with being new and back then, it was a different locker room. You know, there wasn’t a lot of rules. But I definitely got some heat during my WWE career.

Muhammad Hassan Banned From WWE Television

Following a controversy on SmackDown, WWE was ordered by UPN to immediately remove the wrestler from the show. During the same interview, Muhammad Hassan explained how he learned he had been canceled.

Regarding another match, the former WWE star gave a definitive answer.
