Saturday at the Park Announces Safety Changes and More This Year

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Organizers of Saturday in the Park are changing up a few elements of the annual concert you may have grown accustomed to in the past.

This year, organizers are adding another security measure before people enter the music festival scheduled for July 6.

Although bag searches have been conducted at the event in the past, organizers are adding some measures already in place at other festivals to keep people safe.

“This year, everyone will be entering through magnetometers. Magnetometers are new. Last year, we did bag searches, but this year we will have magnetometers,” said Saturday in the Park co-founder David Bernstein.

Organizers also teamed up with another group to help raise funds to help those in need.

“We’re going to be working with the Red Cross. They’re going to have collections at the entrance for people who want them. We’re going to match those collections from this day on,” Bernstein said.
