Meet Newly Elected Justice Lauren Wallace: ‘Expect Me to Listen to Everyone’

After winning a majority of the countywide vote in a June 18 runoff election, Judge-elect Lauren Wallace is preparing to transition from Douglas County’s chief deputy district attorney to the position of deputy district attorney in Superior Court.

Wallace will replace Douglas Circuit Chief Judge William “Beau” McClain, who is retiring after his term expires Dec. 31. But before the prosecutor-turned-lawyer takes office in January, she is giving her fellow judges, attorneys and litigators a preview of what they can expect from her as a judge.
