Canon City Police Recover Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Heroin During Traffic Stop

CANON CITY, Colo. (KRDO) — The Canon City Police Department (CCPD) reported Tuesday that it recovered a large quantity of narcotics during a traffic stop in May.

CCPD said a traffic stop was conducted on the night of May 26, 2024, at the corner of 9th Street and Whipple Avenue. The driver was identified as Angelina Madison, 34. She was driving with a suspended license, police said.

According to CCPD, an open-air search by a K9 officer indicated the possible presence of drugs in the vehicle. The subsequent search uncovered 1,641 fentanyl pills, 105.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine and five grams of black heroin.

Madison was arrested on multiple counts of unlawful possession, as well as distribution, unlawful possession of a weapon and several other charges, CCPD said.
