Doner Shack Prepares for U.S. Debut

Doner Shack, the Berlin-inspired street food franchise concept, has confirmed it will be exhibiting at the largest franchise show in the southern US in early September. Having completed the franchise’s brand repositioning, menu development and new delivery solution, the Scotland-based team felt the time was right to make their American dream a reality.

Sanjeev Sanghera, Co-Founder and CEO of Doner Shack, said: “We have always wanted to expand into the US. Over the past year, we have had to evolve our restaurants, our brand, our franchise model and our menu to a level where we could be completely confident that all aspects were covered as we launched into such a large market.”

Doner Shack has spent valuable time repositioning the brand, determined to avoid an early stagnation of its fast food model. The result? UK restaurants are now welcoming customers two to three times a week on average, with sales up 32% compared to June last year, thanks to a 60% increase in delivery sales and an 11% increase in dine-in sales. With all indications that an imminent US launch should find the key 18-34 age bracket equally interested in the mouth-watering menu, the team are showcasing their new stand at Franchise Expo South in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on 6th – 7th September.

“The Doner Shack rebrand and revised menu has created a fun, accessible and refreshing experience for new and existing customers. When it came to our new chicken tenders, we knew that a standard product wouldn’t cut it, so we spent countless hours in the kitchen developing a product that is made from scratch and is one of the best on the market. We’ve also introduced sliders, loaded fries and nine new flavourful sauces, giving you more delicious options to choose from when you visit our restaurants. Our core principle has been, and always will be, to innovate and serve amazing tasting food – our customers can satisfy their cravings knowing they are getting the best quality food for their budget. And we hope to replicate that for our American friends soon,” adds Sanjeev.
