Chatsworth bear captured hiding in tree

CHATSWORTH (CNS) – A bear spotted in a tree Tuesday after wandering into an industrial neighborhood in Chatsworth has been captured by wildlife personnel.

The bear, believed to be between 3 and 5 years old, is the same animal that was spotted and captured in Claremont in May and fitted with a collar before being released into the Angeles National Forest.

The animal then traveled to Malibu and was not seen again until it was spotted in Chatsworth Monday night.

On Tuesday morning, law enforcement officials and Department of Fish and Wildlife personnel monitored the bear, which was eventually captured late Tuesday morning.
