Annabelle Wallis ‘adored’ alongside Keira Knightley in Silent Night

Annabelle Wallis loved ‘flattering’ Keira Knightley on the set of ‘Silent Night’.

The 37-year-old actress stars alongside Keira and relished the opportunity to work alongside her in the festive film.

Annabelle told Digital Spy: “I’m a huge Keira Knightley fan. I love her so much. It was the easiest thing to fawn over and adore her. There was such a mix of established names and people who are coming up in the industry that I’m so excited to see blossom and see what they do next.”

The “Malignant” star plays Sandra in the film, which follows a group of old friends who reunite for Christmas amid an environmental catastrophe for humanity and she admits the film has added relevance given the chaos of the coronavirus pandemic.

Annabelle explained: “It was life imitating art. We were making this movie with some kind of impending doom and while we were shooting it, the world was stopping around us. We were so lucky to have such an incredible team who kept us all safe.”

She continued: “It was weird, I think, also for the release, I was wondering how people were going to react to it. Is it too close to home? But I think people are ready for it.

“I think it’s a reminder that we’re not out of the woods yet, especially on climate. There’s still work to be done.”

Annabelle admits she was thrilled to take on the role of the “completely honest” Sandra in the Camille Griffin film which also stars Matthew Goode, Lily-Rose Depp and Roman Griffin Davis.

The Peaky Blinders star said: “I think there’s a Sandra in all of us. The great beauty of someone like Sandra is that she’s incapable of being anything other than completely honest. She speaks with the voice in her head, even if it’s inappropriate.

“I love mischievous, naughty characters. I find her funny. I think she’s probably the most cancelable of the group, and so I wanted to play her even more. I think having her as a voice to shine a light on some of the current issues was a great thing to tackle as an actress.”
