Local vocational school now offers overnight welding classes to meet demand

HOUSTON (KIAH) – The Tulsa Welding School and Technology Center (TWS) in Houston is expanding its welding program to include evening classes starting next week. It’s a rare schedule, but the trade school hopes the midnight to 5:15 a.m. class hours will help meet the growing demand for welders from potential students and future employers.

There is a nationwide shortage of welders. This night training program is designed to make welding training more accessible to people with day jobs and responsibilities. These students can now complete the program and have secure, in-demand employment in just seven months.
