Sergino Dest sends message to Barcelona fans as he returns to PSV

Sergino Dest has sent a farewell message to Barcelona fans after completing a permanent move to Eredivise side PSV.

The USMNT defender is currently sidelined with a serious knee injury and is not expected to return to action until next year.

When he does, it will be in the red and white shirt of PSV, rather than Barca’s Blaugrana, and he admits he would have liked things to have gone differently with the Catalan giants.

“It’s an emotional moment for me! An incredible club with such a beautiful history! I wish I could have seen it differently but sometimes in life things are out of our control. I had a great time, especially the first two years and I would like to thank the fans, staff, players and everyone who supported me during these wonderful years. Hopefully we will see each other again. Thank you all.”

Dest made 72 appearances for Barcelona before joining AC Milan on loan for a season and then returning to the Eredivisie with PSV. He signed a contract with the Dutch club until 2028 after helping the club win the title last season.
