Tampa Bay Lightning’s top prospects set to face their names

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tampa Bay Lightning’s top prospects have hit the ice and they’re ready for when their names are called.

“It’s obviously a big week. I’m coming here to try to get my feet wet a little bit and see what we can do here and absorb all the knowledge from all the great people here,” Lightning prospect Conor Geekie said.

“I know what to expect, so I obviously felt more comfortable and more confident coming into the year, but the expectations are the same. I want to be here to learn,” said prospect Ethan Gauthier.

The Lightning have announced the roster for their 2024 development camp, with on-ice workouts beginning early this week. The camp will conclude with the annual 3-on-3 tournament on Thursday and Friday.

Tampa Bay’s development camp features its top prospects, as well as recent NHL draftees, invitees and additional participants.

This year’s camp will feature 2023 draft pick Jayson Shaugabay, second-rounder Ethan Gauthier, Warren Clark, Jack Harvey and Ethan Hay. Bolts 2022 first-rounders Isaac Howard, Lucas Edmonds and recent draftees Milo Roelens and Gabriel Szturc.

The team’s most recent draft picks: fourth-rounder Jan Golicic, fifth-rounder Joona Saarelainen, sixth-rounder Kaden Pitre, and seventh-rounders Joe Connor, Noah Steen and Harrison Meneghin are also participating in camp.

In total, the 2024 roster includes 32 players – 21 forwards, seven defensemen and four goaltenders.
