United Way of Weld County announces new hours, seasonal closure – Greeley Tribune

Starting Sunday, there will be new weekend hours for the 24-hour shelter at the United Way of Weld County Housing Navigation Center at 870 28th St., Greeley.

The shelter will be closed from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays for the entire month of July, starting Sunday, July 7. This change will not impact the shelter’s overnight services or weekday operations. Overnight services will end for the season on Wednesday, July 31, with the last night of service scheduled for Tuesday, July 30. Overnight services are expected to reopen in November, as the colder months begin.

“We remain committed to serving the community,” Ernest Cienfuegos-Baca, United Way vice president of community impact, said in a news release.

It costs $75 a day to house someone for 24 hours, making donations to the services important, he added. To donate, visit unitedway-weld.org.

Anyone in need of assistance is asked to call 211 Colorado by dialing 211 on a phone or by visiting 211colorado.org. The City of Greeley’s Outreach Team is available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at 970-351-5005 for assistance with mental health crises, substance abuse issues and homelessness.

Call 911 in case of emergency.
