Woman charged with drug trafficking after running stop sign

ORANGE PARK – A traffic stop for a stop sign turned into a methamphetamine trafficking charge for an Orange Park woman on June 27.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Brandy Kay O’Brien, 47, was arrested after K-9 Odin alerted deputies to the possible presence of illegal narcotics inside her car after she was pulled over when a deputy said she failed to stop while making a right turn onto Peoria Road.

Deputies found a zip-lock bag containing four hypodermic needles and six plastic bags containing methamphetamine.

Her bail is set at $250,003 and she was given a warning for failing to stop at a sign.
