“Most organizations aren’t fair!” Draymond Green slams Clippers’ unfair treatment of “legend” Paul George – FirstSportz

When Paul George When he joined the Los Angeles Clippers, many had high expectations for the player. Although he didn’t make it to the NBA Finals, George contributed immensely to the Clippers. He also showed a lot of talent during the periods when Kawhi Leonard was injured. Many therefore thought that the team would not let their star leave anytime soon. However, that was not the case at all.

The Clippers letting Paul George go didn’t make many people mad, including the Warriors star. Draymond GreenIn a recent episode of his podcast, the four-time champion called out the organization’s unfair treatment of “the best Clippers in the All-Star game.” Green also defended George to fans against accusations of disloyalty by explaining how the league works.

He's one of the best players in your organization's history. I just don't really want to hear people saying like, 'That guy wasn't loyal.'.... Nah, most of these organizations ain't loyal... This is not a loyal business.

Green also explained that some teams don’t let players do what they think is best for them. Therefore, disloyalty shouldn’t be an accusation against George, as the team didn’t take his wishes into consideration. According to Green, George wanted to join the Warriors, but the Clippers weren’t willing to make the trade. The star then had no choice but to enter free agency and join the Philadelphia 76ers.

The George and Kawhi Leonard era ended sooner than expected. Despite leading the team to its first Western Conference Finals, the duo failed to go further. Nevertheless, Paul George certainly did his best for the team, and for that, the star could have received a better send-off from the organization.

Draymond Green understood Clippers’ decision despite his desire for Paul George

The Warriors have been eyeing George for a long time because they wanted to sign the star if Klay Thompson decided to leave. According to reports, the other part of the dynasty, Green and Stephen Currywere “in” for George to join the Warriors. However, the Clippers did not want Golden State to get a piece of their star despite George’s interest in the team.

While Green criticized the organization for how it treated George, the former Defensive Player of the Year was also sympathetic to the decision. The Clippers and Warriors are not only conference competitors, but are also division rivals. The trade would have benefited the Warriors because the team was unwilling to send Jonathan Kuminga in the exchange.

I kind of understand it. I suppose you don't want him in the same division as you 'cause you may know how that looks if he comes with us.

It’s safe to say that the Clippers’ fears weren’t realized as George decided to join an Eastern Conference team. However, the team certainly needs better plans to protect its record this season. It will be interesting to see how the Clippers replace or compensate for their second-most important scorer on the roster.
