Redmond woman arrested in traffic stop for fentanyl possession; apartment raid uncovers drugs, cash and scale

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) — A multi-agency investigation over the past several months led to the arrest early Wednesday morning of a Redmond woman on charges of possession of fentanyl during a traffic stop by detectives with the Redmond Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit.

The arrest of the woman, whom police have not identified, was the result of an investigation that included a multi-jurisdictional surveillance operation, Lt. Eric Beckwith said.

A search warrant was then executed at a Redmond-area apartment, Beckwith said. Evidence seized included fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, cash and a digital scale.

“The case has been forwarded to the Deschutes County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of additional drug charges,” Beckwith said in a news release.

“The Redmond Police Department would like to thank CODE and DCSO Street Crimes for their assistance in the investigation,” the lieutenant added.

“Drugs are addictive and dangerous. If you are struggling with an addiction, please call a drug helpline such as Ideal Options 1-844-GO-IDEAL. If you become aware of any drug activity, please report it to your local law enforcement agency.”
